The Onyx is a Palm OS 4 flip-phone with cameraThe Onyx, like the Zircon, is a Palm OS 4.1 phone/handheld hybrid device. It measures 48 x 100 x 21.1 mm while weighing in at under 130 grams. The bottom half of the Onyx, when opened, offers a hard keypad and the usual phone buttons, plus a 5-way controller. The upper half offers a 16-bit color 160x240 display, which includes the writing area. The outside of the phone contains a secondary, grayscale 96x32 pixel LCD screen for caller ID support.
Inside, the Onyx is backed by a 33 MHz Dragonball VZ processor, 16 MB of RAM, and 4 MB of Flash ROM. The phone features are provided courtesy of a Class 10 GSM/GPRS radio that operates dual-band at 900/1800 MHz for Asia and Europe. Also included is a small 352x288 digital camera for shooting quick pictures. Other features include a polyphonic speaker for ringtones, vibrating alarm option, and 900 mAh Lithium Ion Polymer battery rated at 100 hours standby time and 2 hours talk time. Included software supports SMS, MMS, and WAP 1.2.
