i dont think so. the AM tx will jam the FM car indeed.
the strength is close for AM or FM but as seankuma said the format is different only.

we have modified a FM PCB of miniz and tested. the same band of AM controller will jam the FM car.

now i have modified one FM 41MHz and FM 29MHz PCB of miniz. and Wild thing u are right. AM will jam FM with same band.

BTW, i dont think the $3 crystal can use in this kind of RC. they are not match pair.

i donno how to do it also. it is done by my partner, he is strong at RF stuffs. and I'm a digital man. We have some business in HK to modify the AM PCB to FM, Turbo, FETs, rear supension plate etc.
the FM, turbo stuffs are made by him and i did the FET, supension stuffs.
so sorry to all of u about this.
