連同這一次,我的NOOK總共出過4次問題,但是這次很慘.

[第1~2次] 不預期突然畫面不動,超過一分鐘,經過亂按急救後都順利回來.

[第3次] 電池本來就中低程度,讀了一下子之後全部變白(平時會先警示battery low,這次無預警).早上發生,晚上回家之後充電半小時之後畫面出現了,僅僅資料全部消失.但是心中有點不安,因為第1,2次發生時google了一下,讀到這一篇http://www.wretch.cc/blog/archtemplar/32176405[我"讀"故我在...BARNES & NOBLE nook 電子書]心中默禱一定不會是我,結果真是烏鴉嘴.

[第4次]
死亡時間是昨天早上,
電池狀態: 9成滿
動作: 剛看完一本,重新進入書庫選書,就在按了下一頁下一頁之後,就突然不動,我再按了一下[下一頁]之後,就全部白掉,
最後停在畫面呈現: your device is starting up >> ">>"會一直跑,但是沒有任何動作,觸控也不會動.
我之前為了省電,將wifi關掉了.

昨晚至今,讀了大陸版及美國版的解決方法,沒一個成功,累死我了. 決定今晚讓腦子休息一下. 呼~~~
現在是電池與本體分離的狀態,畫面還是一樣在呼喊: your device is starting up >>

測試方法如下:

我先是按照Barnes & Noble網站上的介紹長按電源鍵長達20秒...死機中
接著用教學影片中示範的方式將nook背殼拆下並卸下充電電池再重新裝回...仍然死機中
再嘗試用其他使用者建議的方法將nook接上電腦...還是死機中
甚至學一個曾經經歷"終極死機"悲劇的使用者在氣憤絕望之餘卯起來連按五次電源鍵的旁門左道...完全無動於衷的持續死機中

那位使用者依照指示先卸下了nook的充電電池、
接著在沒有裝載電池的狀態下將nook透過USB線接上電腦....

1. Unplug the device if it is plugged in.

2. While unplugged, hold down the power button for 15 seconds to make sure the device is off.

3. Plug the device into the wall (with the battery still in it). The yellow LED should come on within 10-30 seconds.

4. If the yellow LED does come on, leave the device plugged in and allow it to charge. After 30 minutes or so, it should boot up and charge fully.

5. If the yellow LED does not come on after step 3, go ahead and remove the plug, and then remove the battery.

6. Leave the battery for 4 hours (overnight if possible). This step basically allows the battery to “reset”

7. After the 4 hours, go ahead and re-insert the battery.

8. Plug the device into the wall. The yellow LED should come on within 10-30 seconds. If so, leave it plugged in and allow it to boot and charge.

*  Remove the battery from the NOOK for 15-30 minutes.
*  Once the battery is removed, hold the power button down for 45-60 seconds.  This ensures the NOOK will receive a final shutdown command and discharges all residual power.
*  After 15-30 minutes has elapsed re-insert battery into NOOK and re-install battery securing screw.
*  At this point you should fully charge your NOOK using your NOOK USB and charger with any standard AC wall outlet.  Charging can take up to 4 hours so be patient. At some point in the charging process the charging LED should illuminate and your E-Ink display may cycle on and off.

我讀到一個名詞 [HAXBOOT],但是我完全不能理解這是什麼意思,google也找不到,

Sideloading was not an option since the PC would not recognize the Nook.

I called support and they had me "Hexboot" the Nook which was an elaborate procedure requiring voodoo. In any event the Nook booted back up and reloaded the 1.1.1 firmware - pretty much all the settings were back to factory defaults except for the WiFi connection (WPA2) - that oddly still worked. Soon after the 1.2.0 patch started downloading and installed. Everythink looks nominal except I lost my screensaver and wallpaper and user settings.
