摘自Infosync

看來是一支跑Symbian OS的滑蓋機.

Utilizing a sliding mechanism which is far more comfortable than that of, say, the Nokia 7650, the SGH-D710 is quite a looker of a handset. Under the hood, there's the usual compliment of Series 60 applications, as well as 64-tone polyphonic ringtones, support for voice recognition, video recording and playback. The latter benefits from the built-in 64 MB of ROM and 32 MB of RAM available to users, but the D710 also offers users further storage through its support for the brand new RS-MMC format - essentially an half-sized MMC card.

Re: Samsung SGH-D710

BenQ P30

Further of positive note, the keypad of the P30 offers buttons which have much in common with the excellent keypad of the Sony Ericsson P900, but they're even better. Tactile feedback is clear and distinct, and although the click which occurs on pressing a key could be somewhat more muted it's certainly one of the best keypads out there regardless of device category. Two other nifty details include the SDIO capable SD/MMC Card expansion slot

The user interface of the P30 appears not to have been customized at all, although this is by no means a drawback: although lacking in style as compared to the Sony Ericsson P900, the UI is neat and clean, and comes with the full compliment of PIM and other applications as found in UIQ devices from Motorola and Sony Ericsson. Also, the P30 - despite its pre-release status - offered snappy performance, which bodes well for the final product.

Sadly, one minor detail hampers the product somewhat, which is its ridiculously short telescopic stylus. Located in the bottom right corner of the device, it's not only difficult to retrieve, but also somewhat uncomfortable to use. Since BenQ has not included a one-handed interface similar to Sony Ericsson's concept for its devices, future owners could be in for a surprise - so be sure to check whether you're comfortable with this if you plan on purchasing one.

Re: 幾隻用Symbian OS的新smartphone.

Panasonic X700

There's a couple of firsts in the X700 as well, however, as it is the first smartphone on the market to support the new miniSD Card format, and it also appears it will be the first clamshell Series 60 device to hit shelves since the Samsung SGH-D700 has been indefinitely postponed. Thankfully, Panasonic decided not to "innovate" in the area of its keypad, which is - thank God - quite comfortable and offers good tactile feedback, although its keys would benefit from a slight elevation. The navigational pad and its adjacent buttons, however, should be left just as they are.

The most striking aspect of the X700, however, is its small size and light weight; despite lacking exact numbers, it's still a no-brainer pegging it as one of the world's smallest smartphones. Then there's the excellent display, which is both crisp, bright and offers a viewing angle that's out of this world. How this impacts battery life noone knows, but it's fair to guess that because of this, the X700 will be as challenged in the battery department as other Series 60 phones. Additionally, the X700 boasts a relatively large external colour display, offering picture caller ID functionality and more; also this of enjoyably good quality.

When it comes to software, the X700 offers the standard line-up of applications which should be familiar to all other Series 60 users, including a full compliment of PIM applications and a range of small utilities, all reached through the user friendly interface. There is little to talk about here, but it's worth noting that the performance of the camera application was quite poor - however Panasonic has several months left of development, so this is expected to change for the better by the time the X700 reaches shelves.

Re: 幾隻用Symbian OS的新smartphone.

Sendo X

Heavily modified by Sendo, the X runs Series 60 version 1.2s atop Symbian OS 6.0. Comparatively, the Nokia 6600 runs atop newer software, but one would be hard pressed to tell the difference as the X boasts support for just about every word in the acronym soup in which mobile devices bathe, including support for a vast range of audio and video formats. The pre-release version infoSync gained access to did exhibit odd behaviour at times, but not only was it a pre-release version but also running trace software for debugging processes. Primed for customization, the display offers an extra 12 pixels at the top which at all times display system indicators for new messages, signal reception, battery level and more. Despite this, the X is fully compatible with other Series 60 applications as long as these are coded according to proper guidelines.

Sendo X

Courtesy of the special GraphiX coprocessor of the Sendo X, its neatly designed user interface flows very smoothly and is a joy to use. This also affects the viewfinder application for the built-in camera, which flows amazingly smoothly compared to anything else on the market. Picture quality could be better, however, particularly under poorly lit conditions - although several snazzy features such as a flash and anti red-eye cranks the overall impression of this up several notches. Unfortunately, video recording could not be demonstrated due to the trace software running in the background, but if it's anything like the other aspects demonstrated, the X could very well leave other manufacturers embarassed. According to Sendo, the X should in its final state be able of recording video with audio at 15 fps, and utilize up to 90% of available memory, whether internal or a storage card.

Re: 幾隻用Symbian OS的新smartphone.

Motorola A925

All is not lost, however, as there are two major differences between these twins - or one, depending on ones point of view: the screen of the A925 has been vastly improved over that of the A920, and future owners will also have Bluetooth at their disposal. Amusingly, Bluetooth support is also present in the Motorola A920, but is not available to owners; rumours of an upgrade have been circulating for some time, but so far Motorola has not confirmed whether this will be brought to market.

These small differences aside, however, the A925 is a spitting image of the A920, with even button placements having been moved only a few millimetres to accomodate the slightly altered look. It's still too early to say, of course, but it appears owners of the A920 will have little reason to upgrade to the A925 - and particularly so should Motorola decide to offer a Bluetooth upgrade for the A920.
