大家來對PalmOne抗議,把台灣矮化成中國的一個省份.

最近因為業務需要,到PalmOne網站上註冊資料請參考這裡,沒想到再選擇國家的時候,居然發現他們只提供了Taiwan,Provice of China這樣一個令人氣結的選項.連其他這種選項都沒有.放眼看看全世界的網站,百分之九十的網站在選擇國家選項上台灣一定是用Taiwan.我不知道PalmOne是因為疏忽,還是因為被微軟逼急了,現在覬覦大陸市場.不過巴結成這樣,吃像也太難看了.
我自己已經[email=piphelp@palmone.com ]發信[/email]給他們的服務人員過了,結果他們不太想理我,對我來說要我勾選Taiwan,Provice of China我實在做不下去.希望大家能夠發揮一人一信的力量,迫使PalmOne正視問題,畢盡台灣雖小,但是力量不小.PalmOne再這樣小鼻子小眼睛的話,早晚被台灣代工的PPC給幹掉.
下面是我個人提供的英文範本,如果懶得重新打的人,可以斟酌參考.

I found that in the membership registration form at your website(http://pluggedin.palmone.com/regac/pluggedin/GettingStarted). You made a terrible mistake in the Country Selection List.
As you may or may not be aware of that Taiwan is definitely not a Provice of China by now.  We humbly ask you to correct this mistake by using Taiwan, Taiwan, Republic of China or Taiwan, R.O.C instead of Taiwan, Provice of China. At least you can leave an option like Others. Because that term  hurt the feeling of 23 million people who live in Taiwan. Taiwan may not a big country, but our power ain't small.
I would like to ask you again to reconsider that. we know that your company has great interest in China. But please, business is business. Politics situation in east Asia is not your battle field.

我覺得應該是程式資料庫的問題吧,註冊過幾個網站也是這樣的寫法
應該是這一類註冊網頁是套裝的,作網站的也不過是設上去而已
對外國人來說 taiwan跟thailand大概也分不清楚有什麼差別
實在不需要這麼憤慨,與其在那邊幹譙,鼓動民族意識,跟對岸搞對抗
還不如自己爭氣一點,多爭取在國際露臉的機會
不要老是有政治抗爭或是國會打架,才會吸引人家來報導

發生這種事真是令人生氣

不過我剛剛發現到一件事
您所提供的註冊網站是PluggedIn Program的註冊網頁
但是在Product 的註冊網頁下 ( http://www.palmone.com/intl/productreg/select.epl )
一共有七種語言的註冊選項
包括正體中文和簡體中文
只有在簡體中文的註冊網頁才是顯示 中X台灣
其他語言裡面的國家選項都是 Taiwan
並沒有province of china 的字眼

另外我不覺得這是什麼和中國搞對抗的問題
對的就是對的, 覺得不對或是權益受損的地方就應該去爭取
跟要不要爭氣是兩回事
就算是再不起眼再窮的一個小國家
碰到這種問題時, 也是會堅持自己的原則
把這種問題上綱至認為原作在搞意識型態的對抗才是不必要的

有些事情是不可以麻木的！！！如果不發聲，外國人永遠分不清楚Taiwan與Thailand.  更何況只是舉手之勞。

Re: Taiwan is not a province of China.

There is a typping error in your official website. Please refer to http://pluggedin.palmone.com/regac/pluggedin/GettingStarted. The conventional geographic name of "Taiwan" has been added an odd description " Province of China" on your country/region selection list. And, it is a terrible mistake.

It is my request that your esteemed company immediately correct it back to "Taiwan" to avoid any further polilitical dispute. Please use geographic names only and treat all your market equally. Taiwan is the name of the island I live. It is a geographic name just like Honk Kong, Italy and Canada on the very same county/region selection list. There is no need to add a redundant description of "Province of China".

If you have any question, please contact with your PalmOne Taiwan office. They will justify and support my request.

這種事實在是見怪不怪, 我記得 SonyEricsson 的網站也是這副德性, 我認為這不能怪PalmOne 甚至是 中國大陸, 這是我們自己的問題, 台灣到底是不是中國的一個省, 連我們自己國內都搞不定, 誰能幫你搞定?

自己都不尊重自己了, 還奢望別人可以尊重你.

對外國人而言
搞不清楚是什麼關係的時候
當然是西瓜偎大邊

對現在的台灣人而言
要獨？要統？要一國兩制？
要叫中華民國？要叫台灣國？要叫中國？

奧運為什麼不能奏國歌？不能拿國旗？

不想談政治
但是這些問題
在台灣土生土長的我也是真的弄不懂
我只想在台灣好好生活下去
但是身處在這樣一個衝突的年代與土地上
只能說是半點不由人

抗議？
要改成台灣嗎？

這個......非常不好意思，palmOne在台灣沒有分公司呢。

只有一間小小的辦公室，裡面住著一隻常常忙到睡辦公室的貓，其他沒了。

現階段來說，如果把這隻貓抓走，palmOne在台灣就鬧空城了。

美國人是相當重視公平對待的。在國際貿易領域上，中華民國被稱之為Taiwan已經有3,40年的歷史，而台灣產品行銷全球，也都打上Made in Taiwan的mark。

而我的抗議信要求的只是公平對待，當香港義大利與加拿大用的是地理名詞時，台灣自不能例外。

本抗議信非關國號，而在公平對待。

1)貓是非常顧家的動物，加油！加油！
2)單純的客人招受委屈，是不用等一致共識，也不用回家看戶口名簿的。。

我是建議PalmOne應該順應絕大部分網站對台灣的直接稱呼Taiwan,要不然 Taiwan, R.O.C 也都可以.甚至最基本的你也應該留一個其他的選項.
否則強迫人家選Taiwan,Provice of China.我個人是一定要抗議的.
有沒有用,不知道,但是沒有任何聲音是一定沒有用的.
