GPSmile unlock method #2 (You should have read my post just before this post)

In my previous post, I have suggest a way to use the C310auto.exe and a script to unlock Windows CE desktop. The only problem of the earlier method is that you have to use the TaskManager to kill the Holux GPS program which has already started and covered the Windows CE desktop.

If you are really want to do something further to avoid it, then you can follow the second method here.

Before the \SDMMC\holuxnavi.exe is executed, the \ResidentFlash\setup.exe is executed which is the Holux GPS software GUI covering the Windows CE desktop background. We can start the C310auto.exe in the \ResidentFlash\ folder to replace the setup.exe, instead starting in the \SDMMC\ folder.

1. Connect you GPS unit via the USB cable to your PC which has Microsoft Activesync installed. If you do not have ActiveSync installed, then download it from Microsoft and install it.
2. Copy the C310Auto.exe into the \ResidentFlash\ folder.
3. Under the \ResidentFlash\ folder, rename setup.exe to something else you will remember, don't delete it or overwrite it. Rename the C310Auto.exe as setup.exe.
4. Create the script file as following: Create an empty text file, name it as setup.c31, opening it with a text editor, paste the following lines into it, and then save it.

5. Copy the script file setup.c31 to the \Resident\Flash\ folder, the restart your GPS unit. You will get a nice looking Windows CE desktop as your background without the Holux GPS GUI.
